2022 Nissan Qashqai in Ottawa
The Nissan Qashqai revolutionized the SUV market when it was launched in 2007, defining the compact crossover segment almost overnight. The years since then have seen the model constantly refined and updated, and the all-new 2022 release is set to include some stunning new features. Here's what we know so far about the upcoming 2022 Nissan Qashqai, available soon at our Ottawa dealership.
Elegant Exterior Design
The Qashqai has an attractive new look for the 2022 model year, with a more muscular profile and a widened body stance. The enlarged front grille gives a confident air, while the backward-sweeping LED lights add a dynamic sports appeal. And lastly, the chunky rear end gives the Qashqai more heft and assurance than you'll find in any other compact crossover.Power Under the Hood
The new Qashqai model has been built on an updated platform that's ready for electrification. However, the range at this point is still firmly focused on a gas powertrain, albeit one with a mild hybrid option to maintain battery life and eke out a few more kilometres per litre. A new 1.3L four-cylinder turbo engine delivers fully 147 horsepower and 184lb-ft of torque, an impressively large output for a crossover of this size, passed to front-wheel drive through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).Interior Comfort
The Qashqai sets new standards for interior comfort in the compact crossover segment, with ambient lighting and excellent visibility creating an open and spacious feel. And to complete the upscale experience, the leather quilted seats include both heating and massage functions for the driver and front passenger, along with eight-way power adjustment with memory recall.Advanced Infotainment and Safety Tech
For a small car, the Qashqai packs a lot of infotainment tech into the cabin. The range starts with an 8" touchscreen display supported by a 7" colour TFT instrument cluster, with higher trims upgrading the infotainment screen to 9" and the instruments to 12.3". Wireless smartphone integration is offered through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a wireless phone charger and a 10.8" head-up display complete the high-end picture. And lastly, advanced safety technologies include traffic sign recognition, intelligent lane intervention, forward and rear emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and much more.
